How Courses Work

1. Signing in

If you have never been to the Learning Center before, please take a few seconds to register and our system will automatically recognize you in the future.

Look for the words "Log out" at the left of the page as confirmation that you have been signed in.

Note: The Learning Center uses a cookie to recognize you the next time you visit the site. This cookie is not used for any other purpose, or to gather any other information about you or your behavior while on the site.

2. Choosing a course

Click a course title on the Learning Center homepage to find out more about a course that interests you.

The Course Overview page includes a description of the course, the session start and end dates, the objectives for the course, and a list of lessons included in the course.

3. Enrolling

You need to enroll in a course to access the lessons, Message Board, and other great features.

To enroll, click the Enroll Now button next to the course session that interests you. If the site prompts you to sign in, complete the simple registration process if you are a new user, or sign in if you are a returning user.

4. Course sessions and lessons

A course session is the time period when a course is offered.

Lessons for a specific course are listed at the bottom of the Course Detail page. Once you enroll, all lessons in the course are available at once, beginning on the course start date.

The lessons, quizzes, assignments, and Message Board remain accessible 24/7 until the course end date.

5. Instructor

Learning Center course instructors are subject-matter experts who enjoy teaching and interacting with students. Among them are award-winning authors, technology leaders, and professionals.

Click on the instructor's name on the Course Overview page to learn more about the instructor.

During a course session, you can use the Message Board to get help from your instructor or converse with other students about the topics covered in the course.

6. Reminders

When you enroll in a course, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that your enrollment was successful. We will also send you an e-mail before the course session ends to let you know the course will be ending soon. Also, you will receive one mid-course reminder to let you know the lessons and Message Board are open and available.
